My husband and I live on a ranch in beautiful Wyoming with our two sons. It is great to watch our kids grow up in the country where they have the opportunity to tag along with dad and mom as our little "helpers"! There is a lot to be said for spending time with your kids and the ranch life has allowed us to be a close family.
Being so far out of town has its downfalls too!! I started Western Trends in 2003 when I needed a gift for a baby shower and didn't want to run 35 miles into town. I found some denim and bandana material in the closet and began to sew. That is when I created the baby bibs offered today. Since then, my product line grew and grew and is still growing. We come up with new ideas all the time and are constantly introducing new products. We love to take custom orders and build something unique for someone.
Our lariat rope products are made from ropes that I have purchased from area ranchers and cowboys. They have been used on different working cattle ranches and in the rodeo arena. Each rope forms differently and takes its own shape. The possibilities for us to create western art and decorations are endless. Each piece is different in its size, shape and color making it a one of a kind item.
Some of our "For the Home" items are made from "recycled" materials off the ranch. The barbed wire is from old fences that have been replaced. The barnwood votive holders are made from old windmill tower posts. The banwood signs are from old windbreaks that the famous "Wyoming Wind" has blown down. We enjoy selling our handcrafted items so people can have a little piece of Wyoming in their home.
It makes me giddy inside when I set up at a craft show and people walk by my booth and adore my denim baby bibs. It really makes me feel great that I created something that someone else loves too. They are one of my favorite things to sell. The quilts are a new thing for me but I am getting more creative and people are loving them too!!
The other items I offer that are not handmade are things that I have used myself or given as gifts and thought they would be a great addition to my western store's product line. I like quality craftmanship and I feel the these items are great quality. I only offer items to other people that I use or would use so I know what the product is like.
